ITALY FOOD HAPPY HOUR AND ZABAGLIONE AT THE FOOD FAIR CAFE

On 28th November ItalyFood Monte Carlo invited guests to the workshop space of the Food Fair. At 17h15 there was a Happy Hour followed by desserts and, as you can imagine, nobody was disappointed.

The Master Of Ceremonies, Olivier Taboué, presided over the event which began with the famous Italian barman, Mr Coslovic; all under the watchful eye of Mr Jean-Pierre Rous of Slow Food Monte Carlo and Mr Moranzoni, the charming and happy President of ItalyFood Monte-Carlo.

The cocktail based on Prosecco from Le Rive was mixed with exotic fruit juices and saffronflavoured vodka. The commentary was provided by Mr Jean-Pierre Rous, former sommelier at the Louis XV restaurant under Mr Ducasse. It was enjoyed by the numerous spectators who always come to the ItalyFood Monte-Carlo shows.

Then chef Massimo Guzzone arrived and, after his enormous success with the Plate of Peace earlier in the day, prepared a marvelous coffee-flavored zabaglione. He prepared the dessert with, first a layer of panettone from Barra, then a layer of white mascarpone. Finally he whipped by hand over a bain-marie a mixture of mascarpone, fresh cream and coffee.

He filled his siphons with this still-warm mixture and covered the panettone. The verdict was unanimous acclaim and once again there was not enough to satisfy the huge crowd of admirers who kept asking for more.

A LITTLE SWEET WINE TO ACCOMPANY THE TASTING

To accompany this dessert M Jean-Pierre Rous produced an Italian muscat wine from Agricola Marrone of which he spoke enthusiastically.

He and M Moranzoni handed out glasses to the public.
And so, on this sweet and splendid note, the ItalyFood Monte Carlo show closed with great success. Well done, Mr Moranzoni! We can’t wait to see new surprises at next year’s show.
