MACCHERONCINI GRANDMOTHER LILLY
Ingredients
Ingredients for 4 people:
- ½ Kg. of dried pasta - tortiglioni
- 100 gr. bacon cubes
- 200 ml. cream for cooking UHT
- tomato paste (double or triple) - 185 gr. (½ tube)
Preparation
- Saute lardons of beacon in butter.
- Add all the contents of the tube of tomato paste.
- Bake the pasta at the same time; when it is ready put the cream in the sauce.
- Drain the pasta and put it in the sauce, adding pepper and Parmesan cheese.
- Serve possibly "after midnight"!

When you ask Granny Lilly to prepare her special macaroni with cream and tomato she is as happy to make it as her guests are to eat it; she will even give you some to take home.
The history of this dish is very interesting. One of Granny Lilly's friend ran a Piano bar and during the 70' and 80's and used to ask the owner to create a special dish to accompany the champagne which flowed until late.
