My name’s Gian Piero Marrone and I’m a winemaker from La Morra, continuing the tradition started by my grandfather Pietro. In 1957 in “Cascina Carlot”, the family owned farm in the heart of the Langhe region, he planted the first Dolcetto and Barbera vines with “selected graftings” and later, with the help of my father Carlo, he added Nebbiolo and Moscato vines. A dream of selectioned viticulture started to take shape and when I finished my studies in 1975, I joined the business, to continue improving cellar and vinification techniques. In 1983 there was another leap in quality after purchasing our company in Annunziata near La Morra and an increasing interest in crossing borders to introduce the whole world to the wonderful wines of this land.
